About

Chet and I have our home in Northern Nevada where we overlook the Carson Range of the Sierra Nevada mountains.  Our little hobby farm is where we love spending time.  There is a certain sense of fulfillment raising food for your table.  We take pride in knowing where a large proportion of our meat comes from and much if it raised ourselves.

Currently we breed Nubian and Boer goats, we have dozens and dozens of chicken, ducks, livestock guardian dogs, and occasionally sheep.  We hope to someday in the near future have a breeding group of sheep and bring a steer on site for our freezer.  Every few years we raise turkey and meat chickens as well.

Chet’s background is in outdoor recreation and spent over a decade building custom furniture and cabinets.  He currently works for a tree company working on forestry and urban tree projects as well as wildland fire fuels reduction projects.  I’m an attorney.  Let’s be honest, that’s really not all that interesting to most people.  Chet and I have two children.  Gabe is our little wranger, ranch hand, dog catcher, and indentured servant.  Rebeka is our little feral one who brings a different element of brightness and enthusiasm to our every day.

La Ferme Bon Rea is our homestead where we raise our animals (including the children), food, and just enjoy digging in the dirt, walking in poo (well, maybe not enjoying so much), and living a life that we love an enjoy.  We sell our chicken eggs and on occasion, duck eggs as they are available.
